1. Introduction & Overview

UploadMyWalk respects your privacy. We believe your walking routes, physical coordinates, and outdoor memories belong to you. We do not sell your personal telemetry, location trails, or uploaded photos to data brokers or advertising networks.

2. Information We Collect

• Account Details: Your email address for passwordless authentication and account verification.
• GPS & Route Telemetry: Latitude, longitude, elevation, timestamps, and heart-rate telemetry extracted from your uploaded GPX/KML files.
• Attached Media: Photographs you choose to link to your routes, including embedded EXIF GPS tags used to place photo markers on the map.

3. Third-Party Service Processors

• Supabase: Hosted PostgreSQL database and secure file storage bucket for user accounts and photos.
• Mapbox: Vector map rendering and 3D digital elevation models. Route coordinates are processed in your browser to render map lines.
• Open-Meteo: Coordinate centroids and walk timestamps are sent to Open-Meteo's weather archive to pull historical weather telemetry.
• Paddle.com: Our Merchant of Record. Financial and card details are entered directly into Paddle’s encrypted checkout; UploadMyWalk never sees or stores your payment card numbers.

4. Data Retention & Permanent Deletion (GDPR)

You retain complete control over your data. You may delete individual walks or choose Delete All Walks in Settings at any time. Doing so immediately purges database records and permanently deletes associated image binaries from our cloud storage buckets.

5. Data Portability

You can download your complete walking journal at any time in GPX, GeoJSON, CSV, or lossless JSON / ZIP backup formats.
